HOW TO START READING BOOKS? (A-BEGINNER GUIDE TO START READING)

Have you looked at a thick book in a library and had this immediate thought (Oh! It will take years to complete this). Have you considered yourself too slow to read? Have you ever had a kid in your class for whom reading those thick books seemed like a cakewalk?

Alas! This time comes in everyone’s life where you feel the need to read. But looking at that thick book seems quite daunting. It leaves you frustrated.

I was one of those kids too for whom the idea of reading was boring. I tried reading again and again with the new technique, to again end up finding it too boring and leaving it.

Today reading and writing are the only things which I think the most about. When I started reading it was never about pages. It was all about curiosity.

Here are two ways in which reading will be a cakewalk for you too

1) Pick an interesting topic always

Pick a book whose topic is interesting for you, a topic from which you can relate.

If you are interested in:

Fiction: - Harry Potter Series, Divergent, Red Queen, etc

Non-Fiction: - The Diary of a Young Girl, Essentialism, etc.

Love/Romance: - The Hating Game, Fallen Crest High, etc.

Self Help: - The Power of Now, Rich Dad and Poor Dad, etc.

Crime and Mystery: - The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol, etc.

These are some of the recommendations to start reading

 2) Make it a habit first

Read-only 3-5 pages daily but read it consistently. Once you get the hang of it, you will automatically increase pages.

“My biggest advice is to start, stop stressing whether it is romance or erotic. Never be ashamed of the book you are reading and never shame anyone for theirs (Guys! I can’t help but insist ‘please don’t criticize others choice’ respect their choice and I hope they respect yours)”

Conclusion

Reading can be difficult to start. If you have any thought to read, start immediately (every word count). Reading is magical in itself; I hope you experience it.
