Book Review “The Villain” by L.J. Shen

This is the third book I have read by this author.

The title intrigued me when I bought this book.

Plot

The story revolves around Persephone and Cillian. Cillian is the CEO of Royal Pipelines, while Persephone is a pre-school teacher. It’s a story of how two people came to love each other in an unconventional marriage. It tells that even emotionally damaged people can fall in love.

What I liked

I liked Cillian’s character a lot. The author represented him as cold, toxic, insensitive. His character was intriguing. Whereas Persephone was soft, timid yet having a backbone.

To some extent, the story felt real. The book has a bit of mystery that was not unveiled until the last few pages.

It kept me on my toes as I was expecting a breakthrough. I particularly like the bickering between Persephone and Cillian. It was refreshing. There were host sex scenes within the book.

The book made me laugh and cry through the pages.

It’s a beautiful read if you are interested in romance.

Didn’t like

I could have lived through less prose.

Conclusion

This book is an excellent read if you love romance. A big fan of anti-heroes. It’s a perfect mixture of comedy/ drama/ romance.

Tell me if you liked the book or not?
